Reverse Engineering

AEG uses Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to scan existing physical parts and assemblies to create accurate CAD data from them. This enables us to initiate projects using CAD models to develop product external features.

Reverse engineering is also particularly useful when customer wants to refine or add to existing products for which no CAD data is available. The CMM is used to import the actual part geometry into our ProE CAD software, where it can be manipulated and used as the reference for the creation of additional features, parts and assemblies.

This ensures that the ergonomics and aesthetics of a concept are considered in parallel with the more functional aspects of a design, such that an optimum solution can be realised. Equally, our mechanical and electronic engineers understand the importance of the role that industrial design plays in the development of a desirable and successful product.
